Abubakar ‘Bakri’ Moaz is a visual artist who works in oils, acrylics, ink on paper and mixed media. A graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Painting from the Sudan University of Science and Technology (2022), he co-founded the Zan Arts Studio in Khartoum in 2017, thereby playing a key role in Sudan’s emerging fine arts movement.

His work explores spirituality, truth, nature and displacement, drawing inspiration from the geography of Khartoum, situated between the Blue Nile and the White Nile. His paintings are held in private and public collections across four continents and have been exhibited internationally.

Following recent events in Sudan, Bakri now lives and works in Nairobi, Kenya.
